Mountain West Golf Academy at Sage Lakes was once again selected as an Operation 36 top 50 location for 2024!

The Operation 36 Top 50 Golf Coach list is the only one of its kind that uses quantitative measures to determine who is making the biggest impact on golf through their program. An essential component of Operation 36 Golf Program is the ability to measure progress for the golfer’s journey, so it is essential to evaluate the coaches who were nominated by a measurable standard. Golf Coaches are evaluated by their use of formal 9-hole events throughout the year, application of the Operation 36 curriculum, assessing golfer’s progress throughout the season, and the use of online social tools to encourage more practice and play.

Tyson Bowen, PGA was selected as a top 50 coach for 4 consecutive years making him a two time Operation 36 Master Coach.

Step 1: Learn Skills in Fun Classes


We make learning the game feel like a game! Your junior will make friends and learn skills in fun engaging classes. Juniors have so much fun they have no idea they are learning and developing skills! Mountain West Golf Academy uses the Operation 36 Curriculum to make learning in classes a fun and engaging experience.


Step 2: Play Their First 9 Holes


Playing the game is the best way to learn! Our Operation 36 is led by Golf Professionals Tyson Bowen, PGA, Kevin Kavran, PGA, and Jake Cole who will provide your junior with a 9 hole playing experience with the Op 36 Model. Caddy for your junior as they begin their golf journey. Our coaches will log your juniors 9 hole scores on their profile to begin to track their golf development over time.


Step 3: Train & Track Progress


The Op 36 Mobile App is your family's guide to play and practice outside of classes. Your juniors’ classes shouldn't only feel like a game, their entire golf development should! All your playing and training data is sent to our coaches automatically to help guide you in your development. You and your junior can learn from educational videos sent by your coaches and see all your goals and journey in one spot. We believe in connecting parent, coach, and golfer in a motivating and encouraging way!


Step 4: Repeat Steps 1-3


This cycle provides your junior with a clear and motivating plan year after year. With Operation 36 your junior will see bite size success every step of the way. This builds momentum, confidence, patience, and work ethic over time. By following the recommended development guidelines, you and your coaches can give your junior the best environment possible to learn a sport and lessons that will last a lifetime!

When you register your kid for a class, they will meet at the same day and time each week until the completion of the program.
